Guilt... Oh what an emotional burden it can be!

Writer's picture: Compassionate CuppaCompassionate Cuppa

Our wrongdoings in life can elicit a feeling of guilt within ourselves – where we have caused harm, or not followed our own moral compass on something. However, letting guilt fester or being stuck in guilt can be really damaging. This is because it doesn't lead to any change: either for yourself or others affected by your mistake.

If we've wronged someone, acknowledge it. Be sincere and regretful for your actions, with the intention to make amends to them. Check with them what can be done to make things better. This way, you know that you have learnt from the experience and can focus on the positive actions towards change and healing.

So we can let go and be guilt-free...
