The positives and hopes...

Whilst the news and social media can help in keeping us informed, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and anxious as a result from the content. There is a lot of doom and gloom and possibly the worst of it is yet to come. We all have been affected through the social distancing measures. However, that isn’t to say that there isn’t good or upbeat stories out there. The situation has resulted in an outpouring of kindness towards each other. Many of us are helping out in our communities in a way that’s never happened before during peacetime. We appreciate what we still have as well.

This period has also afforded us an opportunity to reflect on what matters to us and the people or groups that matter within our society. In our past we also hold good memories. Whether it’s a picture or object that reminds us, it takes us back to that time. The experiences that we most value and remember we are likely to treasure throughout our lifetime. We can collate a library of joyful, happy memories that we can access. It’s really useful when uplifting stories are scarce at present. The photo above was taken last year at Lake Geneva in Switzerland which was beautiful: it still is in spite of this time.

What can we create or enjoy now that will help us through this? It’s Easter – while like no other, there are things and experiences that we can still share… We might not be in the same room today, but laugh and share together again we will.
